Autonomous floor scrubbers work best in facilities with large, repeatable cleaning routes and open floor space. A facility assessment/demo can determine if your layout, traffic patterns, and cleaning requirements are a good fit.
An industrial floor sweeper picks up debris and dust making it one of the most efficient ways to control dust. Sweepers can be used while forklifts are working in the facility with minimal disruption to business. Alternatively, an industrial floor scrubber is an even more thorough method of dust control because it uses water and soap to scrub floors while the squeegee system leaves floors dry and ready for use. Note: This method should be performed when warehouse / forklift traffic is lighter.
Using an industrial floor scrubber with a coarse brush / pad with cleaning solution provides extra scrubbing power. These machines begin by wetting the floor & scrubbing the same area with 3-4 passes. This allows dwell time for the soap to break down soilage before the vacuum system activates to pick up the slurry of dirty water.
Depending on the type of surface to be cleaned (polished concrete, painted floor, bare concrete, asphalt, tile, etc) and what the build up is made of, industrial floor cleaning operators have a variety of options for tackling different types of messes. With the correct combination of brush type, pressure, speed, & soap it is possible to clean almost any mess. Disc Brush Scrubbing typically provides a high performance clean, but it does not pick up debris. Cylindrical scrubbing picks up small debris and throws it into the debris tray while simultaneously scrubbing and vacuuming. Cylindrical scrubbing generally provides a less powerful scrub compared to disc brushes, however, the debris pick up reduces labor and prevents clogging of water recovery system.
Regular Sweeping of Debris and dust is always necessary and can be performed while there is traffic in the facility. Scrubbing to achieve a higher level of clean which can be done regularly or occasionally when traffic in the facility is light. Sweeping four days a week and scrubbing on the fifth day during light traffic is a common schedule in many warehouses.
